Position Summary

This Event Staff role will support events approximately 20 hours per week. Ideal candidates will have a positive attitude and an understanding of the physical nature of the position.

 

This is a seasonal role from May 1, 2026 and will end on October 31, 2026.

 

This role will pay an hourly rate of $19.00

 

This position will remain open until July 3, 2026.

About the Venue

The Hangar Sport and Events Centre is located on the grounds of Downsview Park, and consists of four indoor soccer fields, a ball hockey arena, two multi sport courts, and three outdoor full size artificial turf soccer fields. Over 600,000 people make their way through the facility on an annual basis. Oak View Group also manages the outdoor events at Downsview Park, such as fundraising walks/runs, community events, and large concerts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for special events, such as traffic management and parking management.
  • Set up & take down of equipment for special events.
  • Liaise with clients, addressing queries, concerns or complaints.
  • Monitor the safety of all activities and programs and respond to any safety concerns.
  • Maintain a strong customer-focused approached when responding to general inquiries and resolving any conflicts.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to follow through and complete overlapping projects.
  • Ability to take initiative and work both independently, and in a team environment.
  • Shifts are primarily evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to work long hours, outdoors, and in inclement weather.
  • Ability to routinely lift heavy equipment.
