The Concessions Stand Lead handles the inventory and ordering for the concessions stand. Ensures quality of food presentation. Utilizes a cash register and accepts payment. Must be able to maintain excellent attendance and professional appearance in accordance with OVG's policy.

This role pays an hourly rate of $17.00 CAD and is tip eligible.

Spruce Meadows is South Calgary's leading Sports and Entertainment District, located on the border of Southwest Calgary. Regarded as one of the top show jumping venues on the planet, a stunning 500-acre property also hosts a wide range of events, including tournaments, concerts, festivals, and world-famous markets.

• Conduct the cash register sales by taking orders, building orders, and completing the transaction.
• Build orders, prepare food, and have knowledge in all areas of concession operations.
• Responsible for maintaining stock and supply levels and communicating low stock items to the Concessions Stand Manager.
• Listening and responding to customer requests or concerns with an impeccable level of customer service.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized workspace, including but not limited to disposal of garbage & cleaning dishes.
• Serve beverages to guests, including alcoholic beverages, responsibly.
• Check guest’s ID in accordance with state/federal regulations to verify minimum age requirement for purchase of alcoholic beverages.
• Maintains sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
• Restock items, including trays, bottles, and cans.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance, and maintain a clean and well-kept uniform.
• Maintain inventory count, including opening and closing numbers.
• Ordering for the stand, including stock, dry goods, or cleaning supplies.
• Ensure the team is maintaining the cleanliness of the stands before, during, and after the events.
  

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Six months’ experience in the food service industry preferred.
• Must possess a ProServe.
• Ability to work in an indoor/outdoor environment.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to learn to handle cash and learn to operate a cash register and corresponding POS system.
• Excellent interpersonal skills & a friendly, positive attitude with co-workers, managers, volunteers & guests.
